Youth and Art

Traditional art is not interesting people any more and especially to youth. So, new original kinds of art appeared and traditional ones were developed and adapted to the modern world.
Sometimes modern youth is considered to be uncreative and uninteresting as youth doesn't care about art and think only about entertainment and discos. In reality, young people are very creative and the majority of them compose poems and song lyrics, dance modern styles of dances such as hip-hop and break-dance and draw beautiful pictures on the walls of cities. Photography, cinematography, piercing and body art complete the list of modern art.
Graffiti is considered to be one of three elements of hip-hop culture. Graffiti is painting pictures on the walls all over the city. It is forbidden by law. But recently graffiti has developed a lot and it was recognised as one of kinds of art. So, municipal administrations have given special places for graffiti artists and graffiti pictures decorate street of big cities.
The most famous modern dance is Break-dance know all over the world. Break-dance is often called street dance. Those who dance break-dance avoid this term. They prefer to call themselves b-boys and b-girls. This dance includes a great number of acrobatic movements. B-boys and b-girls are usually good in gymnastics.
Piercing has become very popular recently. It is the part of traditional image of representatives of many subcultures. Punks, rockers and emo-kids are fond of piercing.
Photography is the most spread kind of art. And it is not necessary to be a professional photographer to take good photos. Amateurs also take nice pictures of different genres. Black-and-white photos are not less spread than coloured photos.
Tattoo is the part of body art. In Ancient times tattoos had mystical meaning and only priests and magicians had them. Some tribes of Africa make them because they believe that certain images protect people from evil forces.
Cinematography is modern art, with the help of which it is possible to express everything. In fact cinematography is literature that may be seen and not read.
As you see, young people are interested in modern arts that need the use of modern technologies: cameras, computers. And such modern arts as graffiti, piercing, break-dance are developed and practiced only by young people.
